| Norwegian Dies in Room After Motorbike Accident in Pattaya |

| A middle aged Norwegian national has been found dead in his room shortly after having been involved in a motorbike accident. At approximately 6:00pm, police Lieutenant Colonel Warayut Milai (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified that a foreign man had been found dead in the Aruno building, Soi Arunothai, Pattaya. A team of police and rescue officers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation went to the scene to investigate. |
At the scene, room 41 of the Aruna building, officers discovered the recently deceased body of Mr. Bjorn Kennet Amundsen [43] a Norwegian national. Mr. Amundsen was sitting on a chair in front of his television dead, in a pair of shorts and no shirt. Medical examination revealed that he had bruises and bandages on his body. It was established that he had been dead for approximately 6 hours.
Officers at the scene stated that there appeared to be no sign of a fight or struggle and the room did not look to have been searched. Although a large quantity of prescription medications was evident on the table beside the TV. Police fingerprinted Mr. Amundsen and ordered the medical team to transport the body for autopsy so as the cause of death can be determined.
Police interrogated Miss Shaema, who had discovered the deceased whilst walking past Mr. Amundsen’s room. Miss Shaema stated that the door was open and as she approached she noticed that Mr. Amundsen was almost certainly dead. She explained that she went to inform police immediately follow the discovery.
Miss Shaema also notified police that she had known that Mr. Amundsen had been involved in a motorbike accident on the 26th of January and had gone to the hospital, returning with the aforementioned medicine discovered in his room. Allegedly Mr. Amundsen had not been seen since returning to his room following the accident.
Mr. Amundsen’s motorbike, a Kawasaki racing bike, was confiscated as evidence along with all his possessions from the room. Police will continue with the investigation and eagerly await the hospitals autopsy report. The Norwegian embassy will also be informed.
