A high-level delegation from the University of Tromsø, Norway, visited UND this week to look at ways the two institutions could collaborate, UND officials said in a release. The two share some similarities, according to Curt Rice, vice rector for research at Tromsø. Both are in rural communities, challenged by health care access. Both are interested in research in fossil fuels, renewable energy and aerospace. Already, the two universities’ medical schools are working on a faculty and student exchange agreement.
The delegation, which was in town Thursday and today, visited the medical school, the School of Aerospace Sciences and the College of Business and Public Administration.
With 63 full-time, degree-seeking, undergraduate students from Norway, UND has the most of any U.S. school.
