DR Congo may release convicted Norwegians

The authorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo have opened for the possibility that two Norwegians sentenced to death last summer for killing their driver, may be extradited to Norway. However, first Tjostolv Moland and Joshua French must reach an agreement with the driver's widow for a financial compensation. Norwegian newspaper VG reported Friday morning that the widow is demanding USD 3 million(NOK 18 mill) in compensation. She says the funds will help secure the future for her chldren.A Norwegian delegation is now in Kinshasa, negotiating with the DR Congo authorities for an agreement which would make it possible for the two to serve a life sentence in Norway.
