Human beings tend to temporarily abandon the stubborn divisions based on race, religion, region, intellectual standard and even the sexual orientation, in order to collectively celebrate the triumphant onset of the New Year. In the New Year, we can only hope that good news will prevail over the depressing bad news that used to hit our eardrums on regular basis. If policymakers get things right in the short term and rectify their famous blunders, we may catch the first glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel. It remains to be seen whether we will be lucky enough for such an encouraging outcome.
However, nothing can stop us from hoping for the best while bracing ourselves for the worst. The Norway news, therefore, wishes all its loyal readers, a happy and prosperous New Year!
