Criminal immigrants deported
[01.07.2011, 03:32pm, Fri. GMT]
Fourteen criminal Nigerian illegal immigrants to Norway were this week returned to their homeland by the Norwegian Police. Nine of them had been convicted of more than 50 offences. All of them are convicted of drug-related crimes, and several are in addition convicted of ID falsification, threats and gross violence.According to Justice Minister Knut Storberget this deportation was the first carried out through Frontex, a cooperation protject with Iceland and the EU.

Storberget believes that the drastic reduction in the number of asylum seekers to Norway over the past year is due to the quick deportation of illegal immigrants to Norway
