| Norway offers support in rule of law, energy, economy to Montenegro |

The Government of the Kingdom of Norway will provide significant financial support to projects in the areas of rule of law, energy and economy in Montenegro in 2012, Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg told Montenegro Justice Minister Duško Marković at their meeting yesterday afternoon in Podgorica. The Government of the Kingdom of Norway will provide significant financial support to projects in the areas of rule of law, energy and economy in Montenegro in 2012, Ambassador Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg told Justice Minister Duško Marković at their meeting yesterday afternoon in Podgorica.Ambassador Kamsvåg praised previous cooperation projects in the area of judiciary and rule of law. He announced that the future donor support of Norway will cover ongoing projects, especially those related to free legal aid and mediation, but will expand to new projects in the same area.
Justice Minister Marković thanked the Ambassador for Norway’s support and hitherto cooperation and informed him that 12 new offices providing free legal assistance are expected to be opened in Montenegro in 2012. Speaking on the topic of mediation, Mr Marković announced the introduction of this legal institution not only in civil, but in criminal matters as well.
The two officials discussed Montenegro’s EU integration agenda, and the country’s activities in implementing European standards. They agreed the projects in the area of rule of law, conducted by the Government in cooperation with the Government of Norway, directly contribute to the strengthening of administrative capacity in Montenegro. |
