Fire forced evacuations in Kongsvinger
[31.08.2007, 12:04am, Fri. GMT]
Fire broke out in two wooden buildings in downtown Kongsvinger early Friday morning. No one was injured, but damage to the buildings was enormous and train service through the area was disrupted.  The fire forced the evacuation of 15 people from surrounding buildings, but no one was injured, according to police. Police said they'd been unable to contact one of the residents in one of the nearby buildings, but believed the person had not been present when the fire broke out.Material damage caused by the fire was massive. One of the wooden buildings was said to be completely destroyed.
Police believe the fire started on the second floor, above a night club known as "Løytnant Kreutz."
The fire also threatened nearby tracks for state railway NSB, and train service was replaced with bus service during the morning commute.
