Norwegian defence technology company Simrad Optronics ASA said on Monday (20 August) that its subsidiary Vinghog AS has secured a framework contract for a training system from the US Naval Surface War Center. The framework contract covers the development and delivery of a training system for the MK-47 grenade launcher, and has a maximum value of USD11.47m, of which Simrad Optronics has already received a first firm order valued at USD544,000. Simrad Optronics, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is a leading provider of defence products based on electro-optics and advanced mechanics. The company has sales to more than 40 countries. Simrad Optronics is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the ticker SIT.
