Norway's oil-driven economy has fed a building boom the past few years. Now researchers have determined that the country's construction-related industry is twice as big as earlier estimated. The researchers at the business school BI have charted the activities of Norway's building, development and real estate businesses. They set total annual revenues of all three at a minimum NOK 500 billion (about USD 917 million). The research also indicates that fully one-third of all Norwegian businesses are connected to the construction and real estate industries, boosting its contribution and importance to the country's overall economy. Building industry advocates claimed the study ranks the construction industry second only to Norway's oil industry. Aftenposten English Web Desk
